Registration

To register and activate your ST03A installation, you will need the corresponding license ID (serial number). Complete the request form and either perform the activation online or send the generated Knorr-Bremse license request file (*.kbr) by email to the ST03A Technical Support team.

If the computer on which the Service Terminal is to be activated is connected to the internet:

  • Download and unzip the ST03A installation package into a Windows folder whose name contains only standard Latin characters and, if necessary, numbers. Do not use special characters in the folder name.
  • Install ST03A with full administrator rights by right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as administrator.
  • Open the request form under Tools / Licensing / Request... and fill in the required information.
  • Click Online to send the request directly to the license server.
  • After a short while, a dialog box will appear asking whether you would like to activate the license key.
  • Click Yes to activate the license.

If online activation is not possible (e.g., for ST03A releases older than V3.0.72) or fails for any reason, such as no internet connection:

  • Instead of clicking Online, click Save... / Save anyway and save the request file (*.kbr) on your local computer.
  • Send the *.kbr file as an email attachment to the ST03A Technical Support team.
  • You will receive a reply containing an activation code (= license key).
  • Open Tools / Licensing / Answer... in ST03A.
  • Copy the received license key, paste it into the Key: field, and click Add to activate the license.
